I have the new Plex on my Roku devices. Users who do not have permission to libraries can see them in the list of libraries. They do not have permission, but should not even see them.
There is no place that I have seen to change this.

I am looking for the same to either hide or password protect the library with a required password to access.
I have a adult library that was hidden and unplayable on normal login but is now with the new Roku player it is wide open for the kids to see. How can I hide this library. This is important. Can I go back to the old Roku player. Do I need to purchase fire sticks or other players on my TVs. Hopefully you aren’t planning to screw up the other players.

You create a managed user for the kids.
You define what they shall be able to see and what not.
You set a PIN on your account.
You log in their client devices, activate “auto-logon” in the settings of the Plex client on that device, then use “Switch User” to switch to their managed user account. Only then hand over the device to them.
Never, ever give out your Plex credentials, never give out your PIN.
If they use a web browser instead of one of the other Plex apps, ensure that the web browser doesn’t delete the cookies from plex.tv when it’s closed. That way it stays logged in to the managed Plex user account and doesn’t need to re-login when it’s opened again.
Ok thanks that was helpful. I was able to create a managed user and limited access to safe libraries but the managed user can’t see or select my over the air TV stations ( live TV from my digital tuner).
Click on the user and under restrictions make sure they have “Allow Live TV” or “Allow Live TV & DVR Access.”
I look everywhere and didn’t see that option where do I look for it?
https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/manage-library-access
Click on the user, and under restrictions.
OK but how do I get to that screen. If I click on that user and do edit I only see Profile, libraries, delete user, and done
Try this link https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/plex-home
I can’t find it through the PC app ether
This is very frustrating. The new Roku app messed up everything that was working. I was able to create a managed user and restrict access to keep my kids from seeing my adult library but the managed user can’t see my over the air TV stations. I’m being told to click on that user and change restrictions to allow live TV and DVR access but I don’t get that screen. Maybe I have a different version of the roku app? Sure would like to go back to before they screwed this up. I do have another user It was created before the Roku app was screwed up and isn’t “managed” it can see the live TV and with my firestick app it restricts my adult library but the new screwed up Roku shows them everything. Is the a way to make the unmanaged user managed and keep live TV? How about helping me find the restrictions screen where I can turn on live TV for the managed user?
You are supposed to do that in the web app. That’s where all administrative stuff is done. The Roku and all other client types are “playback only”.

My non privileged users do not have access to the libraries in question, but they see that they exist. They are listed when the user goes to the libraries tab. In the old interface, they only saw what they were allowed to see, now they see that there is a library that they do not have access to
“I’m supposed to do that in the web app” Ok so were do I change the user restrictions in the web app? I’m using the web app and running the web app from the same link as you but no were can I find the indicated screen with the restriction options. I was able to create the managed user from the Roku app and set the library restrictions. I also didn’t see where I could create the managed user on the web app. The web app shows two managed users and gives me no way to manage them that I able to find. The screwed up Roku app shows only one of the users as managed and only allows me to only partially manage that user. Please is there anyone that can help?
Click the Name of the new Managed User profile you made on that screen linked earlier, then click the “Restrictions” tab at the top of the next screen, and under that you’ll see “Live TV and DVR Access” – hit the Edit link on the right side.
OK finally found it.
The most important information I never had is the web browser is the place where most of the configuration is done. So you go to the web browser version of PLEX and login as the Home Admin then top far right and click on the drop down next to the user code letter. Then select account settings, then go to the left and select Plex home, then select the managed user you want to give library and TV access to.
I’m a 6 year lifetime user, have 14,000 photos and 6tb of movies on PLEX and never knew this stuff.
One last thing is there a way to give rights to the managed user to delete scheduled recording of TV and delete watched media?
No, home users are only allowed to change those recording schedules which they created themselves.
Deletion of media is not allowed for anyone except the server admin.
