New plex server installation refuses to let me login/setup

I’m having issues with starting a new server on the same network.

I’m running a working server on .11 and usually access it from .4

now I installed the plex server on .4 to test some stuff, but I’m not getting it to work.
Upon connecting to localhost:32400/web I have been encountering different results.
Mostly a short connecting to my server, and then rerouted to plex.tv/… but nothing happens, it just says PLEX…

After several resets (deleting data), I finally came to loin screen, but I can’t login, I’m only getting to this screen: image

I can briefly see that the login works, my new server is connected , it spins a second, and then I’m thrown back to the screen in the image. and now I’m caught in that loop…
on the image is the correct mail address being displayed, so I am logged in… (email erased on pic)

in previous attempt, it logged me in my other server, and I had to use “incognito mode” for this…

… but now I’m lost…

No one that have experienced this issue?

That warning is the anti-phishing warning.

Are you using the browser in private browsing mode?
I’ve only seen it get stuck when in private-browsing mode or similar plug-ins are blocking the setting of the Plex/web cookies.

Actually, I was in private mode, but that was only because if I do it in the normal mode, and loading 192.168.0.4/web, it reroutes to https://app.plex.tv/auth/#!?clientID=jtr4… and are stuck there… all I see is a small plex logo in the middle of the screen…

so I’m dead stuck.

Adam,

Sign the browser out of your account (upper right)

Now restart the browser

Open again by http://ip.addr.of.host:32400/web

It will do two things:

  1. Sign in
  2. See the unclaimed host and offer to claim it

It will then go into setup

If this fails, we’ll just nuke the Preferences.xml and have it restart (it does get paranoid – self protecting) after a while.

it didn’t work the first time, but now I disable 2 adblockers (which I didn’t even know I had) and now it seems to be working…

I really appreciate the help

you probably had a javascript blocker.

I disabled Adblock Plus and popup blocker for ff, so one of them was in interfering with everything, but as far as I know, none of them disables Java, but they might have misinterpreted one of your scripts.

I am having a problem… i had to delete the server off my laptop as wasnt working. Trued to reinstall but plex.tv wont work at all unless i use a vpn and then when i get to the download screen it just says finding latest downloads and gets stuck… any help please?
