New Plex TV show agent not working, but petulantly insisting I upgrade to it

I would love to use the Plex TV Series Agent, but it will not gracefully handle MST3K because of some weird stuff that happened where the show changed hands a few times. It wants me to create 3 different TV shows which would require renaming dozens of files. It would also prevent me from using Sonarr to automatically download new episodes, since Sonarr would name them in a way Plex doesn’t understand.

Now, the TVDB correctly labels MST3K as having 13 seasons. Which is great. So I switched my Agent to that. But now I keep getting popups and alerts asking me to “upgrade” to the Plex TV Series Agent. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

You can use the Plex series agent and scanner but just change the episode ordering to TVDB

The default when you upgrade is the TMDB show order

To change just one show, click the pencil on the show poster and go to advanced

You can also change the entire library to use the TVDB order if you want

3 dots next to the library → Manage Library → Edit → Advanced

If you go with the TVDB for the whole library this is an easy to use renaming tool if you need it

The default when you upgrade is the TMDB show order

The default when upgrading depends on which agent you’re upgrading from.

If you’re upgrading from the TVDB agent it will auto select TVDB as the episode ordering on the updated library.

This is not accurate unless you are using some very obscure custom naming format.

AFAIK, Sonarr will use whatever format you tell it to use.
