i installed the new update yesterday and now when searching it does not show plex programes or more ways to watch it only lists whats on the server in fact the only way to get to see other sorces is either disable searching on your server or by clicking on the server name in the drop down list which seems pointless when before it was all there in the drop down menu
even clicking more results wont show other soures take pic 1 you can see the choice which will show it on my server jamie-pc the only way to see if playing on plex or available at amazon which it is you have to click where below the film title and on the server name jamie-pc so it shows pic 1 drop down 1st entry the choice 2016-film then underneath jamie-pc to see the results or if i unclick to search my server then it will show the film in the drop down you click on it and it will give you results as in pic 2
That is intentional because 99% of people want to get to the one they already have on their own server (or a friends server if they don’t have their own server). It is why it the server name is clickable
That’s all well and good but before the change you could easy see it because the server is always the first at the top before and now so the only difference is now you made it very hard to find live plex and other sources this is a pointless change especially if your away or can’t connect for some reason you made it near impossible perhaps a rethink should be made
i mean if it wont connect as in a hard drive gone down it will still list it but show unavailable so you would then need to find a online source
is this not one of the reasons for having finding other sources is built into Plex or it could be the copy on the hard drive is corrupted or anything somtimes its just easier to watch from plex live or amazon or netflix if your server is busy either way the other sourses and plex live has been hidden away
