I recently bought the lifetime PlexPass and a SiliconDust CableCard tuner. Long time WMC user finally making the switch. I set up about 10 shows to record and most seem to be working fine. I have three shows set to record all new episodes that aren’t working - NCIS, Big Bang Theory, and Alex, Inc. All three show in the Recording Schedule but don’t actually record. I’ll attach the log file from the server. NCIS should have recorded tonight but did not. Can someone help me understand what is happening?
Also in general is there an easy way to see if something failed and why? For example, I had a Premier League game set to record this past Saturday morning. My entire PC was off during the recording, no big deal, but how do I see that the show should have recorded but didn’t? It looks to me as if the scheduled recording never even existed.

I am new , too. My history with WMC is the same as yours. Unfortunately, Plex DVR is not as polished as WMC. I am still struggling to understand why there is so much trouble recreating something that we were using a decade ago, but that’s how it is. Anyway, there is another post about this issue. I am seeing the same. So far, I know it happens, but I don’t know if this is a mistake within Plex DVR setting a flag as a new airing or is it from the guide data Plex is receiving.
All I can say is you aren’t doing anything wrong. Others are seeing this, too.
Check you are on the latest Plex Pass Beta, there where issues with recording shows between 00:00 and 01:00 GMT (8pm to 9pm Eastern US), think it was to do with maintenance running on the guide so recordings got dropped
The new flag comes from Gracenote, I have used Schedules Direct in the past which uses the same data, I have never trusted the new flag, more often than not it is missing, so i just record all and repeats, then delete what i dont want

So then a corrective measure would be to use the server web interface to navigate to:
Recording Schedule > Recording Priority (sidebar list) > “The scheduled show in question”
Click on the show in question and under “Recording Options” / Airings change “New Airings Only” to “New and Repeat Airings” and Save (for any missing shows).
I tried this and it works. In this case the show in question was “Roseanne” (season 10) which was set to record only new episodes and was in the Recording Schedule before it disappeared unceremoniously.
This is something of a work around but its something that really needs to be fixed.
BTW, I make use of Followshows to keep a schedule of shows online to act as a master list that I can refer to.

Not sure how repeats are for you, but from the advanced scheduling options, you an narrow it down to a particular channel, so it doesnt record all episodes of a show wherever it airs
I’m using a SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime (CableCard 3 tuners) with Plex DVR. Typically there are at least two channels that any given show will air on (SD and HD). This doesn’t include syndicated shows that may have been taken up by other networks.
So for “Roseanne” as an example, I would limit it to ABC-HD which would be channel 607.
Thank you all for the comments and suggestions. I updated my server to use the Beta version on the software and have updated some shows to record all instead of new only. Tonight Big Bang Theory recorded successfully, so that is a good start.
