New PMS install on W10 crashes

Server Version#: 1.21.1.3830

Hello, hopefully someone can help. I’ve been dealing with this now for a few weeks and I still cannot figure out what is causing this to happen.

A month or so ago, I got a new i5 machine. I moved all my Plex data from my Synology NAS plex installation over to this new machine and installed plex according to the migrating PMS articles. PMS started crashing. Thinking it was the migrated data, I wiped all data, reinstalled PMS and same thing.

The crashing happens randomly. Sometimes its when my local clients connect to PMS other times, its when it is sitting idle. Logging into the W10 machine, the “Plex Media Server.exe” file is no longer running.

Thinking this was a Windows issue, I went ahead and formatted the entire system and reinstalled Win 10 Pro from scratch. Nothing else is installed on this machine other than Win 10 Pro. I then installed PMS from scratch. No prior PMS data installed. All my media is on my local NAS, so I recreated my libraries and linked to my NAS. Great, everything works just fine.

As of 2 days ago, the crashing of PMS has begun again. I have absolutely no idea what could be causing this as it was wonderfully stable on my NAS but now that its on an a Win 10 Pro machine it crashes randomly. The only things installed on this machine are Windows 10 Pro (clean install) and PMS.

Machine gets logged in as “Plex” username which allows PMS to startup and then that’s all this machine does. Nothing else. “Plex” user stays logged in 24/7.

Can anyone assist me in trying to track down what’s wrong and why this keeps crashing?

Thank you for any and all help in this. Hopefully I can stop pulling out my hair now or soon.
