Wasn’t sure where to post this…
One issue I have had with Plex for a very long time is that while a TV show is actively recording, Plex only generates video thumbnails for the first couple minutes, then just stops completely generating them.
I have gotten around this by having a folder for “In-Progress-Recordings”, which is where active recordings are stored. Plex monitors this folder but doesn’t fully generate thumbnails for the whole episode(s). At 10:05 each night a batch script and Scheduled task automatically moves any recordings from “In-Progress-Recordings” to another folder, “TV Recordings”.
Once the completed recordings are moved to “TV Recordings”, Plex will completely generate the thumbnails for the entire show(s).
Is there a way to delay, or slow down the speed/time when Plex generates thumbnails for active recordings? IT would be nice to eliminate the moving of files, but that is the only way I’ve found for Plex to completely generate the thumbnails for the entire show.
Any thoughts/suggestions?
