New router and plex remote connection goes down once per day.

Here is my setup:
Bought a new router, Linksys EA9500 Max Stream running ver 2.0 firmware
Running Plex media center 1.9.0.4252 on both servers
Charter for interenet
I have 2 plex servers one on a windows 7 pc and one on a windows 8 pc
Before I bought the new router my remote access on both media centers had been fine for months on end.
Old router was a asus router with port range forwarding enabled for 32400
New router has the same thing done, port 32400 forwarded with both UDP and TCP on
Checked on canyouseeme.org and the port is open.
Resv. IP address of 192.168.1.XX for windows 8 pc
Resv. IP address of 192.168.1.XX for windows 7 pc
Port range forwarding on windows 7 pc is set to forward port 29909
Windows firewall on both pc’s have a rule to let plex run
Both PC’s are connected via a patch cable to router

Once per day my remote access via plex will stop working and I noticed that the public IP address shows a ZERO as the port number on both media servers. Once I reboot router both media servers come back and the public IP address has a port number listed again.

Neither of the servers are checked to manually specify a port.

Somewhere between 2:00 pm and 9:00 pm the remote access will stop working on both servers.

I have read the forums and no one really had a fix for the issue.

Also if I put the old router back in everything works just fine, remote access does not go down daily. Old router is starting to go out and my range has become very weak, thus the need for a new router.

The only different between the old and new router is I cannot change the DNS on the Linksys but I could on the asus.

I am sure it is something with the router but for the life of me I can not figure it out.

Do you mean, you did not enable the check box for “Manual Specify Public Port”? If so, then you are using UPnP and your port forwarding rules on your router have no effect. My guess is that your UPnP ports are changing. So the information on what port your servers are on don’t line up between what was given to Plex.tv before and what is being used now. Enable the Manual port setting and I think it should be fixed.

I tried that as well. Did a port forward for one server to 29909
The other to 32401.
Back in PLEX on both servers checked manual port and put in the above numbers and had it check. Still no remote access.

Again remote access works without having ports manually setup but somewhere around 2 pm to 9 pm I lose remote access. At that time in PLEX both remote access show 0 as a port for the public ip.

Reboot router everything works again.

Can you get me the log for one of your servers after trying the manually specify port to connect?

Can you also provide a screenshot of your router’s port forwarding page? If this issue is affecting both servers, I have to think it’s a router issue.

Working off iPad, links will take you to the log files on my google drive
Also the screen shot is the 3rd link which again will take you to my google drive for that image.

Thanks. i haven’t checked your logs yet but from your router image, i see a firewall tab. Do you possibly need to open the ports there too?
