New Samsung Tizen App Preview

watching movies that are on my home network:

very good audio, there is no audio and video asynchrony on bluetooth headset .

the image quality has decreased a lot.

fast forward and rewind this slow
you could provide chapters (every 10 minutes) when the video / movie file does not have this feature

I have the same problem. It’s not possible to change the language OR the search field.

Hello,

Could you share more details regarding the quality decrease ?

I can not explain
but you can feel a great decrease in video quality

compare to the previous plex app:

faded image
very noisy
lack of sharpness

I’m testing here the new plex with the same film as this one on my home network hd

in fact, video quality has dropped immensely
it is even strange the difference in image quality of the current plex for this plex that is under test

I use plex to watch movies on my home network because it has a much better image than the player I see on my Samsung Qled TV.
but if the image quality of the plex drops so much, it would no longer be worth using it.

I’ve just purchased a new 2020 model Samsung TV:

Model Code: QA75Q70TAWXXY
Software Version: 1115.5
Plex Client Version: 5.0.12

I’m seeing an odd issue where video playback will freeze, but audio playback will continue. The video does eventually start playing again, but stutters more and more until finally the client throws an error claiming that the file format is unsupported. I’ve tried disabling Direct Stream/Direct Play to force transcoding, but the issue persists.

For what it’s worth, this same issue occurs on the non-preview version of the Plex Client app as well as this one. There’s a lot of posts about this on the forums, but no solution seems to exist. I’ve got logs (including ones sent to the server from the client). Is anyone able to assist?

Interesting. Is it 4k hdr ?

TV Model QN65Q6DRAFXZA
SW Version T-MSMAKUC-1361.0, B0970101/070104, BT-S

plex client version 5.0.12
Platform Version 5

Under Live TV & DVR, the TV Grid does not update with the current time.
For instance: I start watching a show at 8:00pm that runs for one hour till 9:00.
at 9:00 I press back on the remote to see the guide, and it is still at 8:00 pm.

I have to go back to the side menu and select another option like TVShows, exit that and then choose Live TV & DVR again to get the grid/guide to update to the current time.

I’ve have been having the same issue but I noticed it is only when you return from watching a live TV show.

If you navigate to the guide and watch it for a while then everything updates correctly.

I noticed that Plex launches a Free Live TV (I haven’t Live TV yet, I need buy the HDHomeRun and Antenna, but I can’t buy it now, is so expensive and I don’t know if is Available to my Country, Panama). Well, the Free Live TV only appear in Plex Media Server, but not in my Samsung UN50NU7090 2018 (Tizen 4.0 Version 5.0.12)

Model: UE55KS7005
FW: 1242.0

Some lines of subtitles will, seemingly at random, not display.

are 4k hdr and also 1080p

I’ve tested several films and they are all like this

Model: UA55RU7400SXNZ
Firmware: 1356.0
Plex Version: 5.0.12

I don’t see the Live TV option in the menu on my TV (I can see it in the web app and IOS app under my account).

I logged into the new app because I wanted to watch the new live TV offering for free and I don’t see it anywhere on the Samsung app. I see it on my phone for the Android I see it on the web for my computer but not on the Samsung app.

Nice, I like the new screensaver options, but is there any way to hide the name of the files?

Example, I’ve setup a wallpaper folder to use as screensaver, and the names look weird, some names are even random stuff I’ve download from imgur.

If people is gonna setup personal albums, the names are probably IMG_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.heic or something like that. Looks cleaner without them.

And a Fill setting would be nice too, so they don’t show bars up and down or on the sides.

And hope you are still considering adding back Start and Finish Time to the playback UI.

Thanks for the work.

Thanks for everything. I’ll test the new version.

Thanks very much for the hard work Plex team.
I can confirm that the direct playing mkv files is working perfectly now in Q70R.

As of this evening, audio is dropping out after watching minutes of a show. Skip back, and audio returns, but often (not always) cuts out at same point. Skip forward and audio is OK. But will drop out later again.
