New Samsung Tizen App Preview

Bug I’ve found. When the file is unavailable, for whatever reason. The old app would bring up a warning about the file is missing. In the new early access, it just spins infinitely on buffering like it thinks it can play the video.

Confirmed all of the issues I raised have been resolved.

  • ASS Subtitles display properly now, and don’t cause the video to freeze

  • Menu items now display correctly, and are no longer covered by the highlight

  • Movie; Show and Episode descriptions now display correctly

  • Audio no longer crashes randomly

  • Music no longer crashes during screensaver

@sLumpy - please relay my gratitude to the team for quick and concise work. The direction the app has taken with a rolling release style, with smaller but faster updates has made the new application a pleasure to use and watch grow.

Kudos to everyone involved, and a massive thanks to everyone who continues to provide feedback; logs and information to help the app get better every day. :+1:

@sLumpy why there is no way to select other languages when searching for subtitles?
It’s that a bug?
The TV searches only in English no matter what language I set on the PLEX account menu AUDIO & SUBTITLE SETTINGS.

FWIW I have the same problem with this remote as well.

OK testing the new version… aaand the artifacting issue is there yet. (Tizen 4.0)

Thank you so much for the progress !

Kudos to the team

Smaller playback UI, finally!

Version 5.1.0 on Tizen. I want small subtitles but when set to Tiny they are very large. Should preferrably be barely readable from 3 metres on a 55" TV.

Feature request: Ability to unpin the Home tab. I use this for my content only. I don’t need recommendations. And with all of the Home tab items removed, it’s just a empty useless tab.

Also, the show themes don’t seem to be playing. They haven’t since I started with the new 2020 TV.

I am happy to report that the issue with my 2020 Tizen TV pausing video while continuing to play audio is resolved with the 5.1.0 Plex client. Thank you to the devs for your hard work!

OMG, The Others Videos are all in horizontal posters! Love it!, Thank you so much!, keep it like this. Only the inside video page has vertical poster, if is possible change it too.

I’m not sure if this has already been reported, so apologies if it has:

I started watching a movie last night about 20 minutes or so into it recording, but from the beginning. When I got to the first advert break I tried fast forwarding but found that it wouldn’t.

It kept trying to play from where I left off.

Yes, still have artifacting on menus and descriptions.

I’ve just noticed a couple of minor UI issues in my Music library and in “Recently Added Music” on the Home screen with regard to long titles in 5.1.0:

a) They are only show two dots for an ellipse rather than three
b) They are not auto scrolling when highlighted

Items in my Movie, TV, and Photo libraries do, as well as “Recently Added” items in those libraries on the Home screen - just not Music :frowning:

And in the title of the video in playing bar too

Why the Skip Intro works for some episodes, but for another not?. For example: for “The 100” last Season not works, but for previous seasons works perfectly.

Q85R - 1356.2 - Tizen 5.0 - Plex 5.1.0 - Playback Error

When playing an AVI video, resume or skip forward more than a few minutes, I get a playback error after some time ‘buffering’. It looks like a timeout?

This works fine on my Mac Plex player and on Android. It also seems to work on Samsung for an MKV video. Is the player transcoding AVI?

Hello everyone,

As an european watching movies with subtitles, I dream that someday Plex will be able to read 4K hdr files with subtitles without transcoding and losing HDR…

If I remember correctly, the playback control for “back” used to go to the beginning of a video, but now it always skips to the previous video. And there’s no rewind/fast-forward.

Could we get the previous behavior back, or have a way to rewind/restart a video?

The new 5.1.0 version is one of the best I have every used for a 4K playback.
The backward/forward is working as it should (it has a little buffer time like 2-3 seconds but I assume it is normal)
The playback is really smooth. Except that it still has some times when start to be lagging. But my experience is that it is only takes 3-5 seconds then it resumes to normaly and smoothy.

I tested it on my Samsung 43TU8002 and 55Q60R.
So if you could just fix that lagging issue, then I think Plex can rule the world

Thank you for your hard work with the app.
