Hi!

Regarding the subtitles issue, after watching some TV Shows episodes, I realize that the subtitles are disappearing randomly, for some seconds, and then back again, without any action from my part.

By the way, the subtitle offset adjustment is a good feature and shouldn’t be removed from this new version.

@captain_caveman2k @gei @redairforce @b3no @BearVV Could you send me some logs of the LiveTV issues you’re having? Please turn on the Log to Server in the settings as well so the app can log the details needed.

@3pwood Subtitles options should be fixed in 5.0.10 already (except subtitle offsets). If you’re still having troubles, can you provide more info? (Sub type, transcode, direct play, etc). Also, I’m unsure what you meant by “I’d prefer scrolling down to the scroll bar to get there rather than putting that front and center because odds are I’m going to watch my episodes in order anyway”. Can you elaborate please?

@theazza_gmail_com We’re still tweaking the UI a bit. We’ll have some of the gaps closed up in the player UI for the next release, and some sidebar changes that may or may not be in the same release. Thumbnails while scrubbing will come at a later time.

I have just noticed that autoplay now stops after a few episodes rather than carrying on till it was stopped. Is this staying this way?

I don’t think this is intended. Will double-check and fix if that’s the case

Everything look rough, the resolution looks like 480p
the fonts are blury

Can you send me some pictures of this plus the old version? I’m not seeing any real difference in texture quality compared to the old app on my devices or in the pictures previously submitted above.

One negative things is, that some selection highlight is blacked out and not yellow as others.

Can you take a picture with your cell phone or something, and upload it somewhere like google drive and send it to me? A few different examples would be good. Does this also happen every time?

@jgrasl can you send me .xml data of the movie you’re playing that’s causing these issues? Logs and/or a sample clip would help too.

@lalala123456 Got logs? SRT should be streamed separately and video should direct play. If you disable the subtitles, does it still buffer? What about if you use the subtitle search and download a new set of subtitles? Does that also buffer?

@DavidAndAndrea Yes I’ve grabbed the file. Haven’t looked at it yet though, but I will be soon.

@zamana Thanks, I’ve noticed it too. It’s related to the subtitle connection dropping, which we’re looking at. Subtitles offset wasn’t removed, it was just not implemented yet due to other priorities. It’ll be added back soon.

@sLumpy I mean that when you select an episode from dock it puts the season episode selection front and center rather than putting the actual episode information front and center. I’d prefer seeing the episode info on top and the season episode selection menu underneath it like it is in the current player.

I turned off the beta version but I’ll switch back to it to see what’s new, thanks.

Filters for TV Shows still don’t work, settings are saved but the filters don’t do anything. Selecting Unplayed still gives you everything including Played…

Ok… play movie. Stop in middle (exit plex). Start plex. Resume. Selct play from where movie stopped (not from beginning)

What happens is it plays pre-roll and starts from beginnig. Was issue in .10… still an issue

Live TV Guide order is now correct. Thank You!. But now when I’m in live TV guide I can’t play a channel. I can arrow down to the channel but pressing the Play or OK button on the remote does nothing. These remote buttons work in other areas such as TV shows and Movies. Nothing on the remote has changed. This started yesterday. Two different remotes tried.
Client ver. 5.0.11, Platform ver 2.4. Tizen ver 1242. TV model UNKS8000.

This could be related to Issue 3 on my list here that I am seeing on certain channels - but my issue is either channel or programme specific (not figured out which yet) as I’m not seeing it on all channels.

sLumpy suggested disabling direct stream but that didn’t help me but you might want to give it a try.

Turning off direct stream didn’t help. I did notice something else about this. If I select a TV channel from the “Watch Now” section instead of the the live tv guide it will show me the information on that channel, allow me to select the “more” buttion or the “record button” with the OK remote button but pressing the OK or Play on the “Play Now” button does nothing just as it does in the live tv guide.

Is there any way to reorder the home screen items? For example I like to put Recently Added Movies as the top item instead of Continue Watching, move On Deck as the last item, etc. There is no ellipses next to the Home button in the sidebar to allow customization like in the current app.

@sLumpy I’m on 5.0.11, unable to change subtitle size and colour, also during testing I stopped playback completely to change options but then resuming playback failed, it would just say ‘buffering’ but then give me a black screen. Here’s the media information for the source file I was loading:

Server sits like 1m away from my TV so network connection completely local and wired.

First of all I want to thank to all Plex Employees who worked so hard for all the improvements of Samsung TV player, even for the older TV versions (2016+)!

This is a report of an older bug. It comes back from older versions of Tizen 2.4, but as I can see, it is reproducing on newest versions of Plex Players also (5.0.11), so I finally decided to come here once more and report it.

Short description:

  • the bug it’s reproducing on Samsung KS9000 (2016 version) with Tizen 2.4. My other LG C9 works fine.
  • the bug it’s reproducing only on some Netflix WebRip/WEB-DL files (ex.: Narcos.Mexico.S02.1080p.NF.WEBRip.DDP5.1.x264-NTb or Dark.S03.1080p.NF.WEB-DL.DDP5.1.x264-NTG )
  • the bug it’s reproducing with or without subtitles
  • the bug it’s older, but I hoped will be fixed in newest versions

Thank for all the hard work so far Devs.
There still seems to be issues with filters (unplayed shows a random selection of played and unplayed content)
Live TV channels are now in order but selecting them does nothing and also no guide data or info is available just “unknown airing”.
Also how do we shuffle play an entire series now?
The option used to be under more in season view but has been removed in this version

I have the problem of not being able to start Live TV too.

I’m loving the new interface overall, but I’m curious about Collections.

When clicking on a Collection, all that is there now are posters of the items in the collection from that library. The collection background image is gone, and more importantly, collections that cross libraries no longer show items from the other libraries.

For example, when I click on my X-Files movie collection, it no longer shows TV Shows in the X-Files Collection. It’s two movies and a tremendously glaring blank background.

The new vertical scrolling is MUCH better than horizontal, particularly for large collections, but please give us back the background image and Items from other libraries that are part of the same collection. As it is, you have to click on the movie itself to see other items in the collection from other libraries.

Otherwise, it’s beautiful and overall faster loading! Here are some pictures of what I’m talking about. Sorry for the quality. They’re phone shots.

I have a 49UH850V-ZA model SAMSUNG TV and smart remote is not “clickable” on the preview
This is basic useability/functionaity that I would expect to work so I instantly reverted to the “old” version of the TV app.

I’m on 5.0.11 using a 65ru7100 and came across the following: when trying to delete a MP4 video from an “other videos” library, the app hangs when pressing yes on the “are you sure” dialog. I had to change source on the TV to get out of the app. The file got deleted though.

Another thing is the Subtitle Search. I used to be able to choose the language I wanted to search subtitles for. Now the search page looks the same, but I am unable to select the language field (make it yellow) and choose a language. I am also unable to type an alternative search string because of the same reason.

I just started to use the preview version with a Samsung UE75TU7000 and before any movie starts it buffers for a long time (>15 secs), however when going back to the current version its much quicker (4 - 6 secs).

The guide looks great! But still no live TV. I tried all variants of Direct Play/Direct Stream. You just click on something to watch in guide, you hear the sound on the TV like something happened, wait at least 30 seconds, no action.

Tried the newest release.

The Playback UI is still gigantic
The left sidebar now looks way too small, compared to 5.0.9
