New Server thinks it the old Server

I’ve been running PMS on MacOS for about 4 years now. I just got a Synology NAS and I’m going to migrate to running PMS on that. I’ve read the doc on how to do the migration and keep all my metadata, so I think I’m fine there.

My problem right now is that I can’t configure the new PMS running on the NAS. When I login to Plex on the new NAS device (cyril) and go to Configure -> Server, I’m getting the settings for my existing MacOS machine (spaceman). On the NAS, It shows spaceman as the friendly name and if I click the SIGN OUT button on NAS it logs the PMS on the Mac out of Plex. It’s really freaking me out.

I haven’t moved any Media or PMS configs/metadata from the Mac to the NAS yet. I’m just starting to get things setup. Both machines are current running Version 1.7.5.4035. They’re both on the same network and in the same subnet.

This seems like a bug to me, as I was pretty sure that you could have multiple Media Servers. Or are you not able to have two Media Servers tied to your Plex Pass account?

Also, I still had the Server Config page up in another browser windos and I can see the scanning status popup for the mac when I’m on the Server Config of the NAS.

Did you select the correct server from the drop down box in the web client? Remember, all Plex clients have the ability to choose which server they connect to - you have to pick the one you want.

Oh yeah. The new server doesn’t have an entry in the drop down. It immediately comes up thinking it’s spaceman.

More testing. I shutdown the original PMS on MacOS and launched a freshly installed server on the NAS. When I login to the server on the NAS, I get no option to configure the PMS on it. There isn’t even a link for server on the configuration page. Can each Plex Pass account only have one PMS?

You can have unlimited numbers of Plex servers on your account.
