I have had a DS214Play running PMS in my home network for a number of years. I have just bought a new DS720+, connected it to the same network and am trying to migrate all data and Apps I use to the new NAS…and I am having problems with Plex.
After installing PMS on the new NAS I am unable to “claim server”, when launching PMS I do not get any option to add a new server - the old one (DS214Play) remains visible as the only available server. There is no server settings or similar visible in the Plex App.
Some additional info if it helps:
- I have tried launching the Plex App through all kinds of ways: incognito browser, typing in the IP address of the new NAS (in my case 192.168.10.110:32400/web) as well as http://app.plex.tv
- I read that other users had similar issues due to not being in a local network - I am no network guru but as far as I can see this should not be any issue, my laptop as well as both NAS are connected to the same router and all have 192.168.10.*** IP address
- I have restarted all NASes, reinstalled the PMS but still nothing
- The Plex “user” in DMS does have read/write access to my video library as well as to the Plex folder
