I see that the above info is important and will source it to add here.
I’m working with someone that uses a Synology NAS DS1515+. The server and the PMS are at the most current versions, but the PMS won’t start. Reinstalling didn’t help. This product had been working fine for a long time.
I am troubleshooting a power disconnect issue with the NAS, but I don’t think it’s related, which is why I’m hoping to get help here.
I’ve never worked with PMS before and hope someone will have mercy on me and get me started troubleshooting in the right direction. I believe I can solve this. I appreciate any help.
Thanks for your reply! My understanding of this situation was verbalized to me and is kinda vague by my standards. I was not provided with log files, but informed about them.
The NAS has been shutting itself off. After an automatic restart, the Plex server attempts to, but fails to start. I’ve opened a case with Synology to determine if there’s a hardware issue causing the unexpected shutdowns. That support case is ongoing and my hunch is that the NAS has failed and needs to be replaced since it’s 5-7yrs old.
I’m trying to t/s the Plex issue separately in an attempt to resolve it in the event I don’t need to replace the NAS. How can I find out why the Plex server attempts to, but won’t start when the NAS turns on? That might be my first path to resolution.
I hope this was less vague. I have an appointment next week to do some hands-on work with the NAS and hope to have a plan of attack to troubleshoot it. Thanks again for your help!
