New to plex I have issue with all my Doctor Who media

Sorry new to plex, 6 months . Not sure where to post this.

Server Version#:latest MacOS build
Player Version#:latest appletv version

So I have two folders Doctor who(1963) and Doctor Who (2005)

I am trying to get all my metadata correct. But plex seems to mix episodes titles up and grabbing from old series to new. It’s really getting frustrating and annoying.

How can I get each show to be correct.

Are you by chance pointing your library to the individual show folders? You should only point your library to a top-level folder which contains those shows.

Can you share how your files are organized within the folder that’s linked to your library?

As for the metadata – there might be some slight differences in the season ordering on different repositories (e.g. The Movie Database vs. TheTVDb). From what I’ve seen those will mostly be in the numbering of specials when it comes to the 2005 reboot.

I have only pointed to my TV Show folder for the TV library.

Under that I have Doctor Who (1963) and Doctor Who (2005) folders
Under each I have season folders. 1963 one goes up to 23 or more I think while 2005 of course started from the beginning so Rose 1x01 etc

Try renaming the folders to:

Doctor Who (2005) {tvdb-78804}
Doctor Who (1963) {tvdb-76107}

Rescan Library or maybe the dreaded Plex Dance

Thanks after doing that and having to split the series in plex a few times. It seems to be fixed now
