Doctor Who 1963 and Doctor Who 2005 displayed as one entry

Server Version#: 1.24.3.5033, Docker on Synology DS918+
Player Version#: Windows, 1.34.1.2590-74ea7099 but does not really matter

Hey everyone,

Yes, I know, another topic about Doctor Who… But I did not find any matching my particular parameters and problem.

So I got the following file structure

-TV-Serie

+-Doctor Who (1963) {tvdb-76107}
++-Season 18
+++-s18e01.mkv

+-Doctor Who (2005) {tvdb-78804}
++-Season 1
+++-s01e01.mkv

So, I have the first airing year of the series and also the ID from TheTVDB. But Plex insists to display them in one Doctor Who entry.

I already tried to use both the “Plex TV Series” scanner as well as “Plex Series Scanner”. But I do not get two seperate entries so I also have no chance to manually fix the assignments or the metadata.

Would appreaciate someone shedding some light on my problem.

In the properties of your tv show library, on the “Add folders” tab, are you adding the folder for each show separately?
Or did you point Plex only to the parent folder TV-serie?
Only the latter can work.

Assuming Plex is pointing to TV-serie

To manually split them apart, browse to the SHOW in Plex (not season or episode). Choose Split Apart from the [...] action button.

Browse into one of the now-split Shows, and get info on a Episode. Identify which show it is. Go back up to the Show level and Fix Match.

(Was Split Apart previously available from the Library browser AllTV ShowsBy Title? I only see Split Apart when actually viewing the Show.)

Thanks a lot! It seems I overlooked that one all the time. Worked like a charm.
