I am running Windows 7 64 bit. My music folder is over 300GB. I’ve searched for a solution. I checked for problematic DLL files and none were on my computer. I tightly control browser scripts and have never had a positive malware scan. I reverted to an early OS backup image and reinstalled Plex Media Server which solved nothing.
What should I try before I give up and establish a new account that doesn’t have Plex Pass?
Try and get the crash dmp files and log for next crash and then downgrade to the earlier version until the issue is identified and eliminated
So first enable debug logging on the server (Settings / Server / General / Show Advanced / Enable Debug Logging) - Save changes
Restart the server
At next crash and before restarting the server, look for the log and dmp file and zip and attach here
Dump file should be in folder C:\Users\xxxxxxx\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Crash Reports
Log file Plex Media Server.log should be in folder C:\Users\xxxxxxx\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Logs
To downgrade, shut down Plex Media Server and uninstall it through Add/Remove programs
Download public release version from plex.tv/downloads and install it

Thanks for the helpful reply. A zip of the requested files is attached.
Thanks. It is an issue caused by some badly tagged music files in your Premium Music Library.
With Verbose Logging enabled as well as Debug Logging, I would be able to give you more info. But for now, I can say that this issue has been seen when the Disc Number or Track Number tags are non standard and not numeric - in actual fact it is the present of an ampersand character that is causing the crashes
The crashes will be avoided in version of Plex Media Server after 0.9.16.6 (fixed in 0.9.17.x) but I would advise that you correct the tags
Jun 12, 2016 14:34:19:539 [5112] ERROR - Had trouble breaking %20Rarities%20/%202
Jun 12, 2016 14:34:19:540 [5112] ERROR - ERROR: Parsing request failed.
Check the tags for all the tracks within
F:\Music\Mudhoney - 2000 - March To Fuzz - Disk 2 Rarities
and specifically the disc number and track number tags
This is what caused this crash - but ought to check all music tracks
I got rid of the bad Mudhoney files, reverted to an pre-PMS OS image and installed PMS 9.17.2. The constant crashes are gone but I did have one hiccup. Once when I right-clicked the tray icon to open the web app a message popped up saying the site couldn’t be reached. The message advised checking the firewall. I closed PMS and reopened it and I could reach the site.
I have verbose logging enabled. I will continue to monitor and report here if there is a continuing issue.
