New to Raspberry Pi & Rasplex (Need Help!)

I will soon purchase a Raspberry Pi as I have heard lots about it with its function with Plex.

Here is my setup and please let me know if this will work out!

I am planning to mainly use the Raspberry Pi as a Server for Rasplex. Do you guys recommend OPENELEC or RASPBMC as the OS?

I have a Samsung F6300 that will serve as the "Plex Player" with the Plex App. I have a Netgear R7000 Router with a 2TB WD Portable Hard Drive connected via USB 3.0 on the router itself. Then I am planning on connecting the Raspberry Pi via Ethernet to the Netgear R7000.

My main goal in all of this is to always have the Raspberry Pi on as a server and not have to use my computer/laptop. My laptop with the plex server, when on, recognizes the portable hard drive and plays my movies just fine on my Samsung. I stream Blu-Ray Quality MKV files and I plan on overclocking my Raspberry Pi.

I hope this makes sense but will all of this work and will the Samsung recognize the Raspberry Pi and my portable hard drive with all my movies? Guess I need to know the best config for overclocking and the right OS.

I would appreciate the help!

This is not supported nor encouraged to run PMS on a rPI
