I added some new TV shows to my library yesterday but Plex is not showing them anywhere.
In the log I can see that they have been found by the scanner but they are not visible in “TV Shows” and if I browse by genre or category they do not show.
In Folder view I can’t even see the folder they are in (library/TV/drama/House of Cards); everything else in subfolders of Drama is correctly shown in Plex in all the views.
I know the files are there, I know they are playable (VLC plays them fine using DLNA).
They are named just like all the other shows in the library, including SnnExx prefix to the individual files.
I can see in the log that Plex found them and added to the database and claims to have shared them publicly.
Your tv show library has been pointed at the parent folder /library/TV Mar 23, 2024 09:57:46.790 [140652955757368] DEBUG - LibraryUpdateManager will start watching /share/Public/Media Library/TV
But you have then created arbitrary genre subfolders.
This won’t work with TV shows.
If you want to retain those subfolders, you need to point your Plex library at each of these genre subfolders individually.
Thanks for the pointer - but that sounds ridiculous. And it works as it is for ALL the other shows in my TV library.
Also, overnight Plex has decided tihere maybe something there but it has identified House of Cards as Casanova !
I can find the seasons and episodes in the Casanova Show Collection.
there is no “Fix Match” or “Unmatch” available and no way to give it the correct IDs for TVDB or IMDB as far as I can tell. It’s decided what they are, incorrectly, and I have no way to change that.
They show correctly in Emby of course, because I can set the ID from the online databases and they pick up the correct information.
