New UI is an awful experience

Adding my frustrations with this change. This is ridiculous. Even if ‘online media sources’ are all disabled the tabs for watching content that isn’t mine is still an option. I honestly wish there was some way that I could demand a refund from Plex. Time to permanently move to either Emby or Jellyfin.

I agree. What kind of crap is this? Not anything I’ve paid for! One reason I’ve used Plex for many years and recommended it, is the simple layout. I have it special for my elderly mother who has memory problems and this has totally thrown her for a loop!!! Change it back or, at the very least, give us the option to use the old UI !!!

This new update has pretty much made Plex unusable on my Roku. Please revert back to the last stable version. The menu is laggy and unresponsive, can’t use arrow buttons to navigate when a video is playing, can’t pause a video.

Was there no QA with this release? How can something this broken be released.

This is junk, an unusable interface it keeps telling me my Server is disconnected when it clearly is online. I have to toggle between libraries and then I can see my media again. Painfully slow and requires to many clicks to get where I want, that is if it doesn’t lockup first. What a frustrating interface.

Whose garbage idea was this new UI? You’ve managed to already confuse the hell out of my elderly parents due to how much you’ve changed the layout. Graphical refresh is one thing, screwing with a decade old UI layout with no way to restore it? I want the woman who designed this fired!

The new UI hides everything useful from the homepage. It also brings up libraries which are supposed to be hidden

The new UI is the most gawdawful thing. Holy crap! I have never even thought about checking into the forums, much less posting until this hideous crap was forced on to me!

I never post on forums at all, but here I am, making a post. What an absolute useless pile of garbage this interface is.

why cant any company just leave stuff alone. It’s almost like there is an unspoken competition to see who can make the worst interface imaginable. I mean seriously… Who wanted this. And why!

Did Management wake up and be like, man…. These menus are too organized. Time to solve that problem. What a joke.

At this point its so unusable Im contemplating on scraping plex and Suffering through Jellyfin. (Never thought I’d be saying that)

This new user experience for Roku is the WORST UI I have ever used. How on earth did this get past the testing phase and survive? Did you even test it? The programmers and devs responsible for this abomination should all be fired, I swear to god. Im downloading Jellyfin as we speak as I refuse to use such a horribly implemented pile of crap.

Do you guys know that in my line of work, I would be FIRED and walked out the door immediately for doing something like this to my customers. This is NOT how you treat your customers if you have any intention of surviving as a company.

The real irony in all this is that the previous interface was fantastic and a HUGE improvement over this garbage that you guys have forced on all of us.

One very angry customer, soon not to be a customer of yours any longer.

I absolutely hate this new update… it’s a disaster. It’s hard to navigate, the once clean & easy to use UI is gone. My library list up & down is gone. My home “continue watching” is gone. The left & right to go through libraries is terrible. Then you have to go down then left then down then enter to open browse :skull::skull: like what the heck. Everything feels hidden now :frowning:

I didn’t want this update, I wish I could go back or pay to keep the old version. The old version was easier and looked way better. Navigating it felt natural and familiar. This new update genuinely stresses me out. -10/10

My son is autistic, Plex on Roku is the only TV UI he knows how to use effectively. He watches about 7 movies repeatedly, has for the last 7 years which were easily accessible from the pinned playlist to the left of his screen. Now this is not an option for him and I dread how he is going to react when I pick him up Friday.

what the fk did you people do to the interface?? it was SO simple before.. now it’s HORRIBLE!!

I have my folks (80+ years old) and my other family members who use this and they’re struggling with it.. it’s so crappy.. it’s so not intuitive..

seems like you’ve got a problem on your hands because this is terrible and everyone wants the old gui back..

the old gui worked.. it was FINE!! LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE!! IF IT AIN’T BROKE, DON’T FIX IT!!

If the devs really care they will roll back what wasn’t broken in the first place come on Plex u can do better than that can’t even use the app anymore on Roku just freezes on everything at least give us an option if we wanted a new one or just made it a theme for the people that want it #Bringbackplex #rollbackplex

Btw started happening after update on 1gbps speeds also reset app deleted it redownload it restarted everything still have issues that never had before also this should be a selectable theme instead of full UI so I know it’s not my setup especially when streaming over 10mbps just loads and loads just basically keeps restarting up every second lol
