I would like to request that Plex bring back the old Roku interface to include the plugin feature. When it was announced that Plex would drop plugin support, Plex did say it would still be usable not completely removed. I might possibly have understand this if Plex would have just informed their users prior to pushing it.
I want a rollback, and I do not even care abotu plugins. I want my LIBRARIES back! This is the most basic feature of Plex. I have my media arranged into libraries. Everyone in my house knows how to get to the libraries, how to “browse all”, etc. Now they are gone. Replaced withe “Movies”, “Shows”, “Videos”? What is this crap!?
Plex, your designers are NOT smarter than me. I know what I want, and how I want it arranged. Do not arrange it for me. While I really do not want to go through the hassle of switching, I am considering it. This new interface is just terrible.
The other thing, like another poster said, why would I want anything in Plex other than my media?
I am never going to use Tidal.
I am never going to use News.
I am never going to use Live TV.
I am never going to use Podcasts.
There are thousands of better apps for those features. Just be the best home media streamer!
OMG, the new interface is like a brick in the face. We hate it. What is that about? Seriously, we need to have the old layout back asap. I cannot even find anything anymore. Just awful.
Please don’t ruin this by making us suffer with this new layout.
Seems they are closing topics when they seem to be overwhelmingly supported, moving to newer topics. Doesn’t matter, just tell 'em you’re leaving and get it over with.
Agree this new one is very hard to navigate and takes more clicks than the previous. Also, they’ve removed the playlist category because I had playlist for both Shows and Videos and now the video playlist don’t even show up in the new layout.
The New UI doesn’t bother me as much as it does so many but I did like the old interface much better. However my major complaint is non of my remote users can connect they keep getting “Connect to the server is not fast enough”, and then won’t stream anything. They can log and search but can’t stream anything. I’ve tried everything I can find and or think of with no success. Please roll this back until you fix these problems…
I really would like to have the folder view back. My son doesn’t like to browse all videos to find the things he likes and we have his videos in a folder for him. I hope you bring it back.
I’ve only been using it for 10 minutes but already I’m hating the blinding bright background and would really appreciate a setting for a night/dark mode or a roll back to the previous version.
yeah, me too- as noted on other posts, I respect that Plex is a privately owned company that can make it’s own decisions, however unpopular; also I acknowledge that yes, you did warn us (sort of) on an announcement, however vague… but…
this really sucks, and yeah, I feel still feel really stupid for a) buying a lifetime pass, and b) recommend that others do so.
bring back the old one, and return support of plugins. it’s what we assumed we were supporting- not this crap curated content you’ve foisted on us, and the horrific UI that goes with it.
The folder view is there. Just, when browsing a library, press the up arrow to get to the top of the screen and then go over to “Movies” or “Shows” and Press OK. From the resulting menu choose “Folders” and there you are, folder view.
So we need a 5 step program to get where we were in one click. Why are you defending this new atrocity. It’s a huge debacle. Think Windows Vista or ME. Get it fixed and do it now!
Totally agree, the user interface is now slow to navigate and cumbersome. I’m looking for alternatives. Terrible update. Even upnp is a better experience, and I have attempted to customize into something usable. I could maybe deal with it, but the wife wants me to “fix it”.
I went to access my PLEX movie library via ROKU and I cannot run PLEX anymore.
My PLEX media server is an older MacMini running 10.7.5 and it has worked fine for years. The PLEX server software for my MacMini is 0.9.10.6.
Why didn’t PLEX give users any options to push this latest ROKU app update - especially when to update the ROKU app meant that PLEX would be totally unusable for some users?
