Hi, I recently built a new SERVER using UnRAID 7.2.2 and I have installed new hard drives doubling my previous space, and migrated some older hardware to this machine as well. My old server is a modest HP windows 10 pro machine that has ran flawless for maybe 8 or 9 years. However, I decided I wanted something a bit more powerful, so I built a full size tower for my next server. And my old server only had room for two hard drives anyway. The new UnRAID server now has four 8TB drives (with a 5th inbound) and the old server has only one drive remaining which is still housing all of my media files and folders as backup.
I know how to migrate from Windows server to server without any issues when it involves Windows machines, and I had no issues with my brothers Synology either, but this UnRAID has been a pita. I have installed PMS now three separate times and so far every time I open the WebUI I get greeted as if I have never been a Plex user. It should just fire up as if I had not changed a thing as it always does on Windows machines. So I copied my AppData PlexMediaServer folder from Windows 10 onto a very fast USB drive, completely shutdown that old machine, used my main PC to 7z the PMS folder and I have BOTH the archive and the PMS folder on it ready to try a 4th time. I have installed Krusader on the UnRAID server too in order to copy, move, delete or what ever I need to so.
Can someone please walk me through how to get Plex running on this Unraid server with everything intact and working as if nothing happened please? I have now read a hundred documents and watched nearly every video on YT to no avail. What am I doing wrong?
Please help. Thank you for any tips tricks, help or anything you can provide me that just works. Oh and the UnRAID forums sent me here, lol.
