Transition / Migration help - Windows to UnRaid system

Summary:
I currently have PMS (Plex Media Server) running on a Windows 10 machine with around 20 TB of data media. Well into the thousands of videos and shows. What I would like to do is transition this PMS to an UnRaid system. I’m not quite sure on how to get there or the best approach. I could really use some help.

What I would like to do:

  1. Migrate the metadata from the Windows PMS to the Unraid PMS so it doesn’t have to spend hours downloading all the new data.
  2. Downtime? There is no way to do an online sync and then flip one off, then the other takes over?
  3. Internal IPs and user issues - I want to make sure users (family) is not affected by me changing stuff on my end. It should be as seamless as possible.
I need to enable Hardware transcoding on PMS Unraid to allow my Nvidia P2000 to offload.

What I have done:
UnRaid is installed on a server.
I have copied over all the data to the UnRaid system.
I have NOT installed PMS yet on the UnRaid system.

I’m running the latest version of PMS.

Anyone?

What’s your linux mastery level?

If you’re just learning, then you’re best to install PMS and have it start fresh.
There are just enough incompatibilities between windows and linux that, unless you’re skilled at the command line, it’ll turn into a very frustrating experience for everyone.

I’m very comfortable with Linux. I just have no idea what Plex is using on either end or how it is architected inside.

I ended up just sitting through the hours of it rebuilding out the database. I’ve lost all the extra information such ass watched status and custom names, etc. Pretty disappointing but its done and over with now.
