New update live tv stops playing every ~30 mins

Ever since the new ui update today, among all the other issues, my live tv stream dies constantly. I can’t get through a whole show without it doing this.
What is this? I don’t care what you think about live tv. This is broken and it needs to be fixed NOW!

Thanks for report. Can you share the android tv logs and the server logs from right after this happens.

It’s like they never bothered to test anything…they didn’t even have the app available in any kind of public beta.

They don’t. As for the plex employee, I’ll get logs asap, as the fact it stops working is my biggest barrier. I spend most of my day with live tv on in the background, and this update has greatly soured me on the experience. If you want evidence of this, look at my vulgar language in various posts that have sense been removed. I have gone up to bat repeatedly for devs, but this update shows poor work on the devs part and can’t simply be explained away by the higher ups. It was the concious decision by devs to, for example, make the “watch now” button in live tv the LAST option when you select a channel, not the first. So I keep accidentally removing my channels from favorites.
This isn’t being rushed. This is poor work on the devs parts, and it feels like a huge kick to the balls as a long time user and staunch supporter. I am very hurt by this update. An update that, mind you, didn’t need to exist. UI/UX changes that never needed to happen. Please, along with helping me with this specific issue, pass along mine, as well as the rest of the community’s, distaste for this poorly done update. This isn’t an issue of “well it’s a bit buggy” it’s an all around downgrade to user experience for everyone, and I have yet to meet someone who was ok with it.
Anyways, I’m currently running my channel again, and should have a set of logs for you in the next 30 minutes or so.

Logs incoming.
I really hope you have a team take a deep look at your live tv function. I know it isn’t the highest priority, as it’s basically depreciated, but a lot of us use it and make our own custom tv channels as a means to view our content more passively while doing work. It’s a feature many still continue to use and it should be at least maintained enough to be kept working. But given your unceremonious killing of watch together, you can understand where I don’t have the best opinion of plex maintaining anything other than their free junk service.

Can you also add your PMS logs? please

It’s been happening on the ROKU since the first release of this gastric anomaly. It’s not quite every 30 minutes. Best I can tell if you change stations within a 30 minute block it will crash just prior to the next 30 minute block. Also if you jump out to the guide within the minute before a 30 minute block your trapped in the guide until time catches up (the guide is a minute or so ahead of realtime). That too has been reported and left without attention. Kind of like LiveTV time shifting that hasn’t worked reliably since the beginning of LiveTV.

Where did you get that LiveTV was deprecated? I’ve not heard that!

Downloading the log from plex through the webUI isn’t working, so I’m uploading it manually from the logs folder.
As for depreciated, I mean it’s not officially, but it seems like they are unwilling to support it more and more as the original idea of using cable cards has basically been killed off by the slow death of cable cards and units that accept it. And using software to make a playout of local media to make an IPTV, or IPTV in general, is not supported by plex for some reason. Personally, I think they should make self hosted Live tv support IPTV more readily, as it means more people are more willing to use plex for everything.
And I am not switching channels. It doesn’t always happen within the same 30 minute block either.
