New update (Version 1.13.5.5332) causing failed remote access

Ever since I updated my server to Version 1.13.5.5332, I can no longer gain remote access. I have already turned off all firewalls, antivirus, and set up port forwarding on my machine. What else can I do to make this work again?

Having same problem with Version 1.13.5.5332. Running Plex server on Windows 10. After updating to version 1.13.5.5332 only “Indirect” connection is possible from Plex apps on other devices, even on same network. I tried disabling Windows firewall but did not solve - still only get “Indirect” access.

Funny thing is i was having the same problem before this update *.5332, once i updated to 5332 that problem (your issue) went away. Until yesterday because now the problem is back again and i have had to click “retry” to get the server to “be online”. It has to be something with how the server checks to see if its accessible and then it sends the “i’m offline” status to whatever server. Why not have plex directly connect to our server instead of redirecting via whatever main plex server.

Now this is all my personal opinion, but it seems like the logical problem because the sever(our home pc’s) checks with whatever server (plex main server) and that’s where the miscommunication comes from…

I could only point my plex app on my phone/table/firestick/other devices outside my house to my IP directly i think this would resolve the issue…

Thanks for your post. I just updated to Plex Media Player v2.18.0 (avail Sep 5, 2018) and my “Indirect” connection to server problem went away. Now getting connected to PMS directly as before. The update includes “Fixed indirect connection being chosen prematurely in some cases.”

Ill check mine to see which verison its on, what are you using BTW? Firestick, iDevice, PC…?

Using PC Windows 10. Plex player on a PC connecting to Plex server on another PC.

Yep Yep Same issue here. Using a Win 10 as server and Vizio TV with the 3 dot madness going on. It is only certain movies though. Anyone else experiencing just certain movies doing this?

Having the same issue. Waiting to see if there are any solutions in the meantime like rolling back to previous versions or if we’ll just need to wait until the next update.

Same issue, have bin like this since 1.13.xxxx, i have tried each version after that except the last because each time i have to roll back to any of the 1.12.xxx and it will work again

Can Plex programmer take a look at it? It has bothered me at least half a year now, maybe just a setting, but what?

I have the same issue.
Installed Version 1.13.8.5388. I can connect with my fone, but not through my tv on the same network.
Everything has worked for years but since the last update I am experiencing trouble.
A friend can connect through phone but not using his apple tv.

Have doublechecked firewall, tried various ports, disabling the firewall on the server, disableing ad-blocking software. No luck.

I am starting to get very frustrated. Any news?
Did you revert to and old verion or are you all still having trouble?

Having the same issue with my CentOS server. I’m stuck on 1.13.0.x i tried the latest update 1.13.8.x but right away indirect and very unstable server. Downgraded to 1.13.0.x and it seems somewhat stable again. Hopefully this gets fixed!
