New version for Android breaks many older recordings

Plex app on my Lenovo Android tablet has updated, breaking much of my library. Two issues:

  1. Many older recordings have severely distorted aspect ratios, squashed way in from the sides. These were ripped from DVD on Handbrake, some home recorded, some commercial recordings. They played fine before.
  2. On some recordings, runtime error reported and they don’t play at all.

I am currently away from home, watching remotely. I do not have access to the server info, but it is the latest (or nearly so) for Synology NAS.

Whatever you’ve done, it’s not good for me. Is there a way to rol back to an earlier version?
