I was running Windows 7 and had a plex server set up, but I was constantly getting errors and crashes so I finally gave in and downloaded windows 10. But when I downloaded plex again on this fresh start I cant seem to be able to set the server back up… Can anyone shed some light on what I need to do… thanks.
Did you do an “upgrade installation” of Windows 10, so all software and data on that machine were retained?
Or did you format the hard drive for a fresh start?
Have you already installed either Firefox or Chrome browser and made it the default?
The default Microsoft Edge browser won’t work.
I Formatted my hard drive and downloaded a fresh version of wondows. My version of wwindows 7 wasnt authentic so i fianlly broke down and got an authentic windows 10. I downloaded chrome but i cant seem to make a new library or set anything up. i just bought the lifetime pass for this account too:(
I downloaded the plex app and nothing is there. I have my buddies plex server listed, we gave eachother guest privilege’s a while back. I just want to be able to add my movie tab and my tv show back so I can stream to google chrome cast. It doesn’t even give me an option to scan for new media now.
Hi,
Ive previously used plex on an old PC , i`m now on legal windows 10 , ive downloaded the server app (chrome) it appears to install ok then i click launch but nothing happens , ive been through this process loads of times in the last 2 weeks but no joy , any ideas ?
Chrome is just a browser. What was your previous setup and what’s changed? Did you put win 10 on the old computer by upgrading or have a new computer? If all new, what’s your setup now and did you install PMS on the new computer?
Hi,
Was on the old pc , no issues , installed on new pc about a year ago , but uninstalled it as i issue with my storage device , when ive installed it i click launch but nothing happens , its showing in my programs but wont run , and theres nothing running in my task manager.
Installed and uninstalled numerous times but just going around in circles (paid for lifetime membership) really dont know what to try next
Are you saying you already had Plex server installed on this PC?
In which case, I recommend uninstalling it again,
then purge any traces of the Plex configuration from the registry https://support.plex.tv/articles/201941078-uninstall-plex-media-server/
reboot the computer and install Plex again.
