I noticed that it combined all shared libraries. I have a total of 3, mine and 2 shared. I don’t want an aggregate of the libraries all in one view. I loved in the previous app how I could switch back and forth if I wanted, as my library is the main one I use.
Is there a way to hide my shared libraries in this new view? I worry I’ll have to remove the shared all together, since I just want to view my library 99% of the time.
This new interface is horrible with navigation that makes me feel like I am browsing a tree. Where is my homepage with items on deck and recently added movies? And how soon until this is resolved?
@renetti If you highlight any media type from the top navigation bar it will show you the On Deck and recently added items. In addition you can go to the Home page (the leftmost icon on the top navigation bar) and it will show you all the On Deck and recently added items for the selected server.
I guess the real question is why would you roll out a new app without vetting it first? I have seen lots of posts about bugs with simple commands that are no longer working. Who’s idea was the roll out? Do they even own an Xbox?

Why can’t I select an individual show tile (ex: S03E11) and navigate to the season or show directly any longer from the individual episode?
You certainly still can. If you click the actions menu there are options to go to the show page or the library page.
Did Plex get hacked? Where did the dashboard go? This is some kind of joke right? Opening the app all I see is choose your library at the top. It was so much more useful opening on the dashboard. Who thought this was good idea…
This is what I see first…
I don’t even want to use this, time to switch to my Roku! Was nice to have one device do everything but this UI is crap. I expect better from Plex. Very sad.
Well that isn’t obvious lol. With the recent change to the Xbox UI,(which I’m still not crazy about) this was not a welcome change. With the dashboard back I’m much happier though. What’s the reason behind hitting up to get the dashboard to populate? I don’t usually lose my mind over changes, but when I do it’s about the Plex UI lol. That should be a meme, thanks for the tip though. I’ll explore the changes with an open mind now.
@mlard811 You should only see an empty dashboard on the very first run of the app. Instead there will be a first run message that explains how the library source picker at the top works, and after the user completes it the dashboard will be populated. Perhaps we might need to tweak this if it’s not super clear, thanks for the feedback.
I have had Plex for a few years now and have watched it through my XBOX One and this is pretty much all I use the Xbox for as I thought the UI was great. I bought another XBOX One 3 weeks ago (now wish i hadn’t) and now with the new update i think that i now have to find another media server/client to use. The disappointing thing is you ruined a perfectly good system and now i have a plex pass to nowhere.
@mlard811 ~~it is obvious. there’s not one, but two icons that tell you where to find media. ~~ edit: it’s not obvious. lol. those icons only got me to the home, movies, tv, etc. buttons at the top and not my library folders at first glance.
however, that said, this UI has been poorly designed and thought through. it’s unfortunate that an update like this took a very long time and this is the result. never have i ever seen a dashboard home screen on any app that is literally blank, devoid of any functionality or purpose (edit: until you select a library…um what!!!). ~~i also have separate folders from my libraries of content (multiple folders of TV for example, but only one folder’s content shows up in the TV library) for a reason and getting to those is not obvious. ~~
@Moussa i know none of this is your fault, and thanks for being patient in all your replies, but make sure the feedback is heard further up the chain at the very least. Thanks.
We’re hearing all your feedback, don’t worry about that. We’re aware there’s some legitimate pain points with the new UI and we’re discussing that internally.
Why can’t I view all my files I have tv section movies then downlands tv I won’t be keeping. now i can only see recently added and on deck but no option to view all tv and view all movie files option why is this. its limiting what I can see if iv watched something ages ago want to watch again its not showing up or if I want to flick through all my movies in order I can’t they have ruined it completely
Doesn’t matter im guessing there was some sort of glitch I closed app and opened it and iv got it now… The ui is very strange and set out very odd tho it looks good and fast but the u have to navigate not great at all and bit silly over complicated
@Ash21uk The Home page (the left most icon on the top bar) will show you the dashboard for the currently active server. Focusing on any of the media types will show you the dashboard for that library.
@Moussa said: @Ash21uk You can click on the media type button or go up to the library selector and select it to enter your library.
This seems like a bad design. It’s not inherently obvious on navigation. Making something really simple into something complex without really explaining how to use it sounds like a bad idea to me. Plex could stand to add some tips or something that you can turn off regarding the new layout.
