Newest Desktop Update Broke PS4

VERSION THAT BREAKS PS4
Server Version# 1.18.2.2058

I installed the update today on my desktop. I was using my PLEX server last night before bed. Nothing in my environment changed.

After running the update. I boot up my PS4 and go to “Media Server” as always. The PLEX server doesn’t show. My environment is a 7Tb NAS, bonded on a 1Gb Fiber connection. PS4 and Desktop are both hardwired.

After multiple troubleshooting steps. I went in and uninstalled the server and installed the 1.18.0.1944 version because again… It was working last night.

I started up my PS4 and it shows again. Now watching my show again.

Might want to fix this…

Are you using the native media player on the PS4? If so, re-enable the DLNA server in Plex Media Server (web UI):

Settings -> DLNA -> Enable the DLNA server

A recent PMS update (1.18.1.1973) changed the DLNA server to be disabled by default:

  • Set the DLNA server feature to be turned off by default. It can be manually re-enabled if required in Plex Web’s server settings (#10530)
