Newly recorded TV Episodes missing metadata (i.e., Title and Summary) after version update

OS: Windows 10 - 64 bit

Options Tried (that resolved the issue but are not supportable longer term)

  • Reverting to an earlier version (PlexMediaServer-1.25.7.5604-980a13e02-x86). This resolved the issue but that server version crashes every so often

Options Tried (that made no improvement)

  • Upgraded to Beta Plex Media Server Version (1.26.1.5772).
  • Tried repairing the database in case there was corruption (using these instructions – Repair a Corrupted Database | Plex Support).
  • Created new TV Library (and deleted the old one).
  • Deleted the DVR and created a new one
  • Disabled windows firewall during recording
  • Installed plex from scratch on a different machine using the same version (1.26.1.5715). This exhibited the same issue (missing episode meta data). The logs are taken from this recently installed server.

You should be able to refresh the metadata and fix it.

I tried a metadata refresh and it did not fix it ( I forgot to add that to the list of things I tried ).

Any new DVR recording is missing the data ( where it was present with the older Plex media server versions ). The show name, season number, and episode number are present but the episode name and summary are not populated.
