I don’t recall exactly when this issue started, but when I record a show, the metadata from the guide isn’t being saved into the show when it’s done recording. When I run “refresh metadata” nothing loads either. I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04 and PMS version 1.26.0 around the same time, but don’t know if it was occurring before then or not.

I had to downgrade to 1.25 and it’s working again. Something in 1.26 must have broke.
I have this same problem, other than downgrading the only workaround I found is using “Fix Match…” to select the same program and then it properly downloads all metadata.
Has Plex said anything about this issue?
Yeah, I was having to do that as well. Glad other people are having the issue and it wasn’t just me.

Dunno if it’s related, or something altogether different, but I’m having odd issues recording some programs. Sun. night, 6:30 PM, MeTV runs a show called “Collectors Call”. It’s programmed to record all eps, new & repeats. This week’s is new, tagged as such in the guide, and shows as scheduled to record in the guide in the web interface, but the “DVR Schedule” doesn’t show it as being scheduled to record.
Also, the titles and descriptions for the first 4 episodes of this show this season vanished, despite having been there when recorded. The filenames that actual files are named with the episode titles.

This turned out to be yet another problem with guide accuracy. It had provided the episode as S03E06, which was the previous week’s episode instead of the correct S03E07 so Plex apparently thought it had already been recorded.
Plex, can we get some feedback on this? It’s definitely still an issue. Over the last few weeks, I had downgraded to 1.25 and have had zero issues with metadata being carried over from the guide data to DVR recordings.
I figured three weeks had passed, haven’t really seen anything in the forums, so I upgraded to the latest PMS version 1.26.1.5798. After upgrading, I DVR’d a show and the data is missing. It just shows season and episode number. No description, no picture. I want it to carry over what is in the guide data on recordings like it has in the past. I will attach logs again. Recording finished at 12:31 am.
I have this same issue.
I had the same thing last night, with CBS’s “Young Sheldon”.
Easy enough to fix; get the correct info and go in and change the filename. Sometimes you have to re-enter the description, etc. manually too.
Now, is that the fault of Plex itself, or is that the fault of the crappy guide service?
I’ve been having this issue as well, for several weeks. But not on all shows.
Is there really no way to flag this as a bug to be fixed? I understand the list is long, and these forums are basically I have this and that problem, but how does one even know that Plex is aware of these issues? Kind of frustrating being an engineer and having a tracking system for bugs. I assume Plex has an internal one, but comments on this forum can easily get lost in the flood of posts.
I have this same problem but it’s only for the first recording of a particular show or first of an individual season of a show. After that, all of the metadata fills in correctly every time. So my workaround is to always keep a dummy episode of each show/season until hopefully this is fixed.
Still broken! I have waited on upgrading after 1.25 hoping that this would eventually be fixed.
I upgraded to 1.27 and did a recording and still get nothing as pictured.
When will Plex acknowledge that something broke regarding this after 1.25???
Just to make sure it wasn’t anything I did in the library settings of my DVR folder I deleted it and created a new one. Still got same results.

but I know I didn’t have to do that on 1.25 so just curious what changed.

I’m still having this issue; with some programs, even when the EPG shows a description of the program prior to recording it, many times the DVR doesn’t save the description or even the image for the episode.
Any ideas when a fix might be coming?
