I received an e-mail from Plex about some news update. I check it out, but it is showing my local news in the [way] wrong location. There is a “personalize” tab right there, which has “postal code”, which is wrong, explaining the issue. Now, I click “edit”, change to the correct zip code, then click “save changes” . So, the news tab still shows wrong local news, I go check personalize, & zip code is back to original wrong one !?!
I have tried restarting client & restarting server; same issue.

I have no local news. It just started a few days ago. It’s worked fine for months now it’s gone. I checked the zip code and its stuck on 20149 and won’t save my local zip code. No local news channels are available any more. I’ve seen others with this issue popping up in these forums and Reddit.
Is Plex aware of a problem? Are other users without local news?
I see a problem. I am able to change the zip code on mine and save, but it doesn’t actually change. Let me see whats going on and I’ll report it to the devs.
That’s what’s happening for me as well. I can change the zip code but it doesn’t stick and reverts back to 20149 which I’ve never entered before and is a thousand miles away…
One another Windows 10 PC I started from scratch with a new server and it still had the issue when I connected to my account on the network. I also reverted back to older Plex versions and the problem remained. On another Windows 10 PC I installed with a fresh account and local news works so it’s something with the update jacking up current accounts, not fresh ones.
You should also try and see if you can remove the sports category. I have it unchecked but it shows up anyway.
I also should note that no local news is showing up for the errant 20149 zip code either. No local news at all.
Thank you very much for the update! I was really enjoying the local news as it was getting better quality content. Very good to hear they are on top of it.
I’ve been running 1.15.3.876 this entire time and had the issues. It’s now fixed for me as well, but I didn’t change anything. Plex devs must’ve done something on their own end at Plex headquarters or whatever.
Really wish they’d been much more informative about the issue. I wasted a lot of time trying to fix things on my end to no avail and the entire time it was on their end.
