Specifically, the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC. See the picture below. The dates shown are future dates. For example, last night October 26th, 2018 is shown as November 13, 2018. I checked the server clock in Windows 10, but it is showing the correct time and date.
After recording Plex uses TheTVDB to grab metadata about the show and they have different episode numbers for the airing dates than both TV Guide and Zap2It are using.
There are several shows that just do not line up correctly. Another I can think of at this time is Will & Grace. The new version is identified by NBC as Season 2, but TheTVDB lists it as Season 10. Those recording that show are in a similar predicament as you. The only thing I could suggest since none of the guide sites agree on what the actual episode numbers should be would be to rename the episodes after the recording ends with the episode number as it is identified on TheTVDB site since that is where Plex will be pulling the metadata from. Plex is naming the show as it comes from Gracenote. I did a quick look on the MSN site for the show and did not find where they even identify what the episode numbers are, they just provide the ability to watch prior episodes on their site once you authenticate with your Cable Provider to prove you have a Cable TV subscription.
Same as Steve2001 NBC Nightly News for me has had 2 or 3 recordings recently show tomorrow’s date. Also once (not certain the cause, but may be this) I didn’t erase future dated episode before next airing and the next airing didn’t record making this doubly problematic (I have it set to only keep most recent recording).
I was expecting the problem to clear up at beginning of the New Year. However only the first like 5 episodes had the correct date, now they are all showing future dates. A “feature” that is a real nuisance that effects all recordings.
Is there anyway to fix this? I wonder if I can block Plex from assigning data and just rely on recording Date?
