I recently set up Plex DVR with my HDHomeRun, and so far I’m reasonably impressed with the results. However, the records for NBC Nightly News are labeled with the wrong date in the episode title.
For example, last night’s recording (for the 7/12/19 airing of the news) was labeled with “Jul 3 Wed” as the episode title.
Yeah, the new guide uses a numbering system for episodes that sometimes differs from TVDB. I’m seeing this on lots of stuff. New guide is a debacle… I had to change my library to personal videos to just eliminate the data entirely…
Just wanted to bump this thread as it’s still an issue. From what I can tell the Episode number in the guide data doesn’t line up the theTVDB for the current days episode. If I look at today’s episode in the guide (9/2/2019) it shows E231 but if you look at theTVDB E231 would be for Sunday August 25th it should be reading E239 which is for 9/2/2019. Please contact the provider and figure out why we are getting the wrong episode number returned.
Was a manual refresh of the guide done just before or on the 25th September ?
Just wondering if it was picking up old data before the adjustments were made
I can’t see any references to 17th September for 24th and 25th metadata for NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt
I would need to know the lineup and channel number and channel name - in case there is something specific to how the airings are setup for that channel
Still seeing outdated guide data here in Denver on KUSA. Tonight’s broadcast says Sept 23 Mon. I have been in Berlin for work so no manual refreshes here. Even so the guide should have updated on its own since
@sa2000 this is still an issue for me, I did a manual guide refresh today and am still seeing the episode number in the guide not lining up to the episode number in thetvdb. As you can see from the screenshot it’s showing 10/3 for the date but the episode should be 269 not 262.

Plex is an embarrassment. They should have just said hey gracenote is expensive. If you want accurate guide data it will be $25 USD a year. Otherwise you can have our ■■■■■■ product for free.
