Hello!
I’ve been having a weird problem for quite a while now, and I’m curious if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.
This happens when watching Plex on a web browser, in my case Firefox (64-bit, latest version).
Lets say I’m watching episode 1 of a TV show, and get to the point where the credits appear.
Before the episode is completely done, if I then click the Next Episode button, very briefly a screen will come up saying something along the lines of “There was a problem playing this item, Skipping in 5 seconds”. This message only lasts for maybe half a second on the screen, then episode 2 starts playing like normal… until about 5 seconds in, then it skips to episode 3.
This happens pretty consistently, but not every time, and happens with multiple shows. It seems to happen when the episode is just about over, within the last 10 seconds or so. It also seems to happen more consistently on shorter shows, like ones that are only 10-12 minutes an episode, but does happen on longer items, as I’ve recreated it on episodes that are 60 minutes long.
Also doesn’t seem to matter if I’m doing a direct stream, or the stream is being transcoded.
Anyone else experienced this issue?
Running plex on a QNAP TS-453 Pro, Version 1.7.1.3856
Plex Web version 3.9

Does this only appear on Firefox? Does this happen on Chrome? or IE? If you can try it on Chrome and IE and see if the issue still occurs. Curious if this is linked to Firefox.
Also if you can, turn on debug in your logs, and create the issue you are having again and post the logs.

Hi Kraevin!
Interesting, but I couldn’t remember running into the issue in Chrome, and I tried to re-produce it, but it appears to be limited to Firefox.
Attached is my Plex Media Server log, Here are some possibly useful time codes for anyone who cares!
Jun 14, 2017 18:57:52.535 - Started Playing Episode 1
Jun 14, 2017 18:57:59.975 - Skipped Ahead to Close to The End of Episode 1
Somewhere in here I pressed Next!
Jun 14, 2017 18:58:19.638 - Started Playing Episode 2
Jun 14, 2017 18:58:25.441 - Started Playing Episode 3
I’ll try a bit more to recreate the issue in Chrome, but definitely doesn’t seem to behave in quite the same way.
Thanks!
