Long time Plex user. Been plagued with my server crashing every night. I have combed through the logs but I am obviously just missing it… any help would be appreciated
Add me to the list. For the past week or two, I’ve noticed that my Plex Media Server stops working every night. I rolled back one update, but that doesn’t seem to have done the trick, so I may rollback one further. Mine isn’t an M1. It’s a Mid 2011 Mac Mini running High Sierra. If anyone discovers a fix, please share.
Update - I turned off creating video thumbnails and it seems to have made things much more stable. Been up for 2 days straight now, which it has not done in months. When I get some time I am going to see if I can narrow it down to one media file or at least a library.
I continue to run without crashing after turning off video preview thumbnails. In addition, my server has now spawned a lot of additional housekeeping tasks (like commercial skip) that have been stalled. I have been running at around 160% CPU for the last 5 days as it catches up on months of housekeeping.
I’d gladly give it a whirl. Is there somewhere I can get that version? When I look in my Plex Media Server Folder, the oldest version I see in my updates now is 1.23.5.4862-0f739d462. I think I have an old folder somewhere that would take me back to some 1.18 versions. Oy. I wish somebody would fix this. It stinks to take a trip knowing nothing will be recorded until you can get back and relaunch the server.
