No 1080p transcode quality targets on Roku Plex App

Server Version#: 1.25.2.5319 (el8)
Player Version#: 6.9.14.7448-9fa2246a1-Plex
Roku Model#: Roku Ultra LT 2019 4662RW

I want to play 4K HDR content on a 1080p SDR TV.

As far as I know, this means I need Plex to transcode in order to do tone-mapping. Since my TV can’t display 4K content and my server isn’t fast enough to transcode 4K content on the fly anyways, I’d like to get Plex to transcode down to 1080p.

When I do this through the web player, I can choose the 1080p@8Mbps option and everything works property. When I try to do this on the Roku, I don’t see any 1080p quality targets, it jumps from 720p@4Mbps to 4K@8Mbps.

What’s the right way for me to do this?

I thought I had posted about this before, but maybe not.

Yeah. I can duplicate this. All of the 1080p options are missing on Roku.

I’d include a screenshot, but either me (probably) or the forum (maybe) aren’t working right now.

You can try to Optimize the video in advance, or my recommendation would be to keep a 1080p SDR copy of the media too. Tone mapping is much harder than simple transcoding.
