We should not have commercials on our own content. Plex wants to put commercials on their content then that is their prerogative but not on my content! As a lifetime member I should at least be given the ability to skip commercials.
They don’t. You just don’t know how to tell the difference between your own content and Plex’s. You should just disable the ad-supported stuff in your account settings.
As @nx6 also is saying, there are not ads on your own content.

This sure seems to happen a lot. It makes you think that maybe the client’s desire to co-mingle the free ad-supported streaming and the personal media stuff is not ideal, or that how the client articulates this is not ideal.
Here’s a user story card: As a user, I’d almost never want to watch an ad-supported version of content I already have in my personal media. Additionally, as a user, I’d like to clearly understand when I’m watching ad-supported content and not my own content.
Maybe this will help the team understand this issue, which has been reported dozens, possibly hundreds, of times over the last few years.
