Server Version#: 1.18.7.2434
Player Version#: 1.6.3.1009-57cf57c8 PLEX (Desktop Client for Windows)
Since all found topics referred to an outdated version of Plex Media Player and NOT to the current PLEX client app for Windows (from official PLEX site), and since there must have been changes in the last years, and since I’m just a newbie, I am aksing the question again:
How can I configure audio output for my client app “Plex-1.6.3.1009-57cf57c8-x86_64.exe” for Windows that my properly working AC3/DTS 5.1 Surround system attached via SPDIF (TX0) can also play DTS/AC3 movies from my PLEX app and not only from other - non-PLEX-related apps?
The hint with Audio/Sound Settings in Windows (Windows+I shortcut) to explicitly select SPDIF (TX0) for PLEX does NOT work! The support article from PLEX is outdated! There is no such setting any more! Current settings (independent whether I use PLEX or PMP 2.50 (PlexMediaPlayer-2.50.0.1045-37e9e857-windows-x64.exe)) show:
i.e General, Quality, Debug and Player, but NO Audio.
Please help, it’s bad enough that PLEX on Amazon Fire Stick does not support DTS, so at least on windows it would be nice.
