I’ve had a problem with plex that has persisted from one iPad to another. On my old iPad mini 4 plex would drop the audio on Bluetooth completely and there wouldn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to why. This has been going on probably for at least a year if not two. To be honest I just gave up trying to make it work as I had a lightning adaptor and so would just run sound directly into my headphones (Bose qc35 2s). I discovered that sometimes you could switch the audio to iPad speakers and back to Bluetooth and that would work but not always. It seems to happen more with h265 content maybe sorry if it’s really vague.
Anyway long and the short of it I got a new iPad Pro which has usb c and with no adaptor I had to go back to Bluetooth. The problem is still there is seems, and if anything is worse. I’m watching content downloaded with the new plex download feature. Some episodes will flat out refuse to do Bluetooth audio, others will work but then you get to the next episode and it’s gone again. Then even if you go back to a previously working episode, nothing. Older episodes (probably older codecs seem to work but once it’s broken nothing will play through Bluetooth in the app without reboot of app and ipad) I’ve ordered an adaptor for usb c but it would be good to get to the bottom of the issue.
