Hi there,
I’m using Plex on my WD MyCloud Home for quiet a while.
The firmware and probably also the software of my WD MyCloud Home has been updated recently and since then I’m having trouble recognizing Plex (server).
Right after activating it it works from any browser (address https://www.plex.tv) or the Mac App and also the app on my iPhone. The only problem I had was with my Samsung TV UE55, server is listed but unable to connect to it.
When closing a browser or restarting the Mac App I have exactly the same problem: Server is seen but can not connect.
So, here is my workaround:
For the browsers: instead of plex.tv I am using the IP address and connection is reestablished.
On my TV I delete the server and type in the direct IP address and all of a sudden I can get access to the content.
What really annoys me is that I have to do this ALL THE TIME.
I mean with the browsers I could create a bookmark, but how can I permanently save the IP address on the Samsung TV ?
And ideally I would also like to have a solution for the Mac App where I have no option at all to enter an IP address: The server “My Cloud Home” is unreachable. Make sure it’s running, double check your network, and try again.
