I can't get any of my movies to play on my XBox One. I can view some of the movies and their details pages, but any video I try to play doesn't work. I have a very good Ubuntu server running the latest Plex server (0.9.10.3.665-c9109e2). I have reinstalled the server and the XBox One app, but nothing works for me like I've seen in demo videos. Most of my movies are h.264 mkv encodes of Blu-Ray rips which play fine on my Samsung Tv, PS3, Roku, and iPhones. I'm very disappointed by this app that I was so looking forward to and can find no one else with my issue. Server and XBox are both on a gigabit ethernet network.
A point of order? The server version you reference is not the latest. Current is 0.9.11.1.678-c48ffd2
Also, what do you mean 'doesn't work'? Just a black screen, some sort of error message, app crashes? We need more details on that as well.
I'll try the 0.9.11.1.678-c48ffd2 build. When I went to reinstall I forgot to download the plex pass version. Yes, "doesn't work" means black screen when trying to play media.
Same deal, new server - black screen when trying to play media. No error message, no crash.
I had a similar deal and it was something where I had my graphics on the XBONE set to 36BIT for colorspace or something along those lines.
I had mine set to that. I changed that back down to 24 bit, restarted the XBox, and even reinstalled the Plex app. I still just get a black screen when trying to play any movie no matter the encoding of the file.
You should probably post your logs from when you try to play a video. That could provide some insight.

Prior to the Plex app, did you have a custom Xbox One profile (Xbox One.xml)? If so, you will need to delete that and run the Plex Media Server installer again. Choose 'repair' from the installer and it will copy a working Xbox One profile.
No, the only Xbox One.xml profile I had was the one the installer made. I have no idea what logs would be useful. I've been running a Plex media server for over a year. Should I try to clear the logs?

I cleared my logs, but plex doesn't seem to be logging anything. No new logs were created.
