Video Playback Black Screen

Hi,

Maybe this is an easy fix.  I installed the latest version of Plex and its connected to Plex.TV.  I downloaded the Plex App on the Xbox One and it works well as I can see my video library, browse movies, details, etc.; however, when I choose a movie, any movie, the screen just goes black and no video/audio playback occurs.  I can hit my B button to return to the previous menu but that's it.  My PC is wired, my Xbox is wireless, but they are on the same LAN subnet.

Are there some things I can check on my server setup to make it work correctly?

Also, since I installed the Plex app on my Xbox One my DLNA isn't working.  My Xbox does now show up as a renderer so my previous method of streaming movies from Plex server (uPnP mobile app) is broken.

Did you previously have a custom Xbox One.xml profile?

This happened to me. I fixed it by deleting the custom Xbox One profile and running the PlexPass Server installer again. Choose 'repair' instead of 'install' and it will put a new working Xbox One profile in your profiles directory. Hope this helps!

Oh, yep - I did create a custom profile for that. I will try that later and see my luck.

Thank you for the quick response. I appreciate it.

I have recreated the .xml file, Re-installed the app, re-installed the server. Still no luck everytime I try and play someting all I see is a black screen.

Just to be sure. What do you mean by recreate the xml-file ?

Just delete any Xbox One.xml out of the system profile folder, then do a repair installation of the latest Plex Pass Server (so the correct xml will be installed in the system profile folder) and try again.

Also make sure there is no Xbox One.xml in your user profile folder (as this might overwrite the system profile)

Deleting the Xbox One.xml file from the directory, then running a repair install on the server worked like a champ. Thank you!
