No download button for my own media library on some client

Hi there,

I run my own library on linux. I also have access to a friend’s library running on his NAS (a different network).

There are some Plex clients I tried and whether I have download button to my own media or to my friend’s media.

Plex web

  • my media: no download
  • friend’s media: no download

MacOS Plex App

  • my media: can download
  • friend’s media: can download

Android Plex on Pixel 9

  • my media: no download
  • friend’s media: can download

iOS Plex on iPadOS 17

  • my media: no download
  • friend’s media: can download

This is quite confusing to me. At least I hope I can download my own media on my phone/ipad. I do have the monthly Plex Pass by the way:

Your account which you are signed into this forum has a Remote Watch Pass not a Plex Pass. Do you have more than one account? I suspect there is a bug in the desktop mac app that it thinks you have a PP. what does it say for subscription type in other apps?

You cannot download from the web app. It does not have the functionality. You can “Save As” as the server admin but that is a different thing, not the downloads feature

Thank you. On my Android Plex app I couldn’t find anywhere to show the Pass type or in fact even mentioning the pass/subscription for my account.

But I think you’re right, on the web Plex I can now see I’m on the Remote Watch Pass.
