I have a custom domain http://plex.customdomain.com that works perfectly except for the Live TV and Watch Together options. I use a apache web server with proxy pass/proxy reverse. Certificates are from LetsEncrypt.
Not even the local web-app that I access on my LAN is working. Roughly 2~3 weeks ago the Live TV was working on the plex-web app. I suppose that I need to update the plex-web app somehow? The hosted version is on 4.45.0.
If it’s not working through the local IP (e.g. http://127.0.0.1:32400/web if you’re on the same machine as your server), this implies it might not be related to your custom domain.
As you’re referring to the hosted version of Plex Web (http://app.plex.tv/desktop)… does live tv / watch together work for you there?
Thanks for the quick reply. Yup both features work on the hosted version of the plex-web app (https://app.plex.tv) that BTW is on a diff version that the one installed on my server.
I tested accessing http://127.0.0.1:32400/web as suggested and Live TV and Watch Together are not available also.
Ok, thanks for your reply. One last question, why was Live TV working 2~3 weeks ago on the plex-web app and it’s not anymore? I did not change any settings. I updated the server package recently. Could it be that?
We didn’t downgrade the local web app that comes with server so I don’t see how it could have ever worked there. it was last updated in server 1.20.0.3125 to 4.34 in july, which does not support Live TV streaming Plex Media Server
