Media with AAC 5.1 audio that used to cast fine to Chromecast Ultra on Plex now will not play at all from Plex unless the Chromecast Ultra audio settings are changed to “Stereo Only”. This forces Plex to transcode the audio to Opus and does play but the audio should be AAC 5.1
I’m not entirely sure when this started to occur as I’ve had a few media refuse to play over the last several months but only now discovered the workaround posted at the following link:
