Player Version#: Chromecast ultra
So, I recently updated my Plex server to the latest version, now everything is being transcoded to ac3 5.1, even my stereo sources. I can’t use my chromecast at all because I don’t hear any dialogue, only parts of the background music/noise.
I can’t seem to find the advanced audio transcoding settings on my QNAP server, can anyone help?
Are you running a Plex client on the chrome cast? How are you access the Plex (DLNA)?
I am casting it via my chrome browser on windows 10.
As far as I know, Plex isn’t involved at all in casting from Chrome to a chromecast.
Chrome -> Chromecast doesn’t involve PMS because it’s already been processed down to Chrome’s level. The ChromeCast is actually higher but being Windows, anything is possible if you have 5.1 audio configured in Windows (?)

My windows audio is set to stereo. Rolling back the plex media server to an earlier version solves the issue. I’m not sure why this is happening. =\
agreed. that’s weird. Wish I could help more but I know nothing about PMS on Windows other than log files. I remember only a little from long ago on windows 2K
