No Metadata or posters for TV shows (error INFO (__init__:140) - JWT Error: (<urlopen error (574: The handshake operation timed out',)

then what are the host differences?

its on both hosts not working. is there any "manual"way to test the connection/ssl for tvdb?
other mediaservers which i tested like emby who are also using tvdb for the metadata do not have the problem, even if they are running on the same host as plex.
just wondering if i could test the connection manually for further investigation.

just for testing i installed plex on a fresh virtualbox centos7 installation. same result.
same SSL error in the logs.

I’ve tested on fresh Centos 7, Ubuntu, and Fedora VMs. I cannot reproduce.

Are you installing additional packages? (Python and Java)

i just checked on my fresh centos 7 minimal installation.
i did not manually installed python or java, however python version 2.7.5 is installed on all my servers.
i also thought of the possibility that my internet provider is blocking something, but the windows version was downloading the posters and metadata without any problems. server was installed in the same network.

minimal? that’s almost never good enough.

The only ‘minimal’ i know of which has enough basic support for the networking requirements of PMS, including SSL (internet) is a Ubuntu 18. All others require a workstation or a server config.

ok, that may explains why its not working on the fresh installation. but unfortunately not why its not working on my other both servers where it was fine for years :frowning:

will give it another try for testing with centos 7 server config
