When I set up my server, I have specific collections, specific poster icons, etc. When I log into Plex at my own house, with different devices, the customizations remain intact. But when I log on to the same account remotely, in a different city, the libraries generate their own poster icons, collections, etc. Any idea why my settings aren’t transmitting remotely? And yes, I upgraded to a paid account…
Either
- you are using a different plex user at home than on the road. A managed user perhaps?
- you are looking at a different server when out and about. You seem to have not only your own server, but one other server shared with you.
It’s the same profile. I use it to view my server via Roku, Apple TV, etc. same name, passcode, etc.But those devices are all on the same home network.
When elsewhere, it gives an error that the connection is insecure, And that my Plex server is not set up for insecure connections. Which seems like a clue for why it isn’t getting the metadata.
But when I click “Allow unsecure connections” I lose all connection to my home server. Then I have an even bigger problem. No connection at all.
