Everything sets up beautifully when I link to Movies and Music but when I point PLEX to where all my photos are on my NAS it doesnt find a single one. Nothing.
Tried so much I am at wits end. Thought it was a permission issue on Synology but not the case. I love everything about PLEX but this! Help
This still is a permissions issue. It’s one of the whacky DSM 7 permission issues.
For reasons unknown, DSM 7 has taken ownership of several shared folders.
The only way to correct this is Control Panel - Shared folders - Select the shared folder - Right Click on it → Action → Convert to Windows ACL (aka … fix the ACL)
If it’s grayed out then the ACL is ok and not in need of repair.
If it needs repair, as you do, give “PlexMediaServer” permission to read
If grayed out, go to file station and grant the permission AND ‘apply to this folder, sub-folders, and files’.
I repaired it and now its grayed out but still wont recognize any of my photos. Thanks for the quick response. With the exception of this one issue, I love PLEX. What an amazing product.

I have another issue. I have a ton of duplicate album covers in music and dont know where they are coming from
